Comments:
This is a great program for any department especially small departments that operate exclusively on donations and do not have the luxury of a city budget. In the past before we were involved we really had to watch what we purchased not knowing how much we would be spending in the near future on fuel and maintenence. This program along with a few other things has helped M.V.F.D update its fleet with 2 new brush trucks also a new set of jaws,10 new air packs, 2 new portable pumps, a new dump tank, a new trauma kit and much more. The people I deal with at revenue-rescue are wonderful and rest assured that they will do everything they can to get you some money, to me they are part of the department. To any department thinking of doing this and is not sure about how the public will feel I would encourage to move ahead with it, volunteer departments must operate and should be able to operate effectively to protect the public.
